British global construction company Balfour Beatty and Atkins – a worldleading design , engineering and project management organisation – are defining testing protocols and detailing projects that will use the Cambridge ’ s electric cement produced from the pilot-scale electric arc furnace trials .
The discovery , say the scientists , could not only drastically cut cement-related carbon emissions , but also make cement far cheaper to manufacture .
