COP26 has focused world attention on the pressing need to stem carbon emissions and construction will continue to be under scrutiny long after the last delegate leaves Glasgow .

On the bright side , companies are starting to introduce low-carbon products and advocating environmental credentials . Links are being forged with other industries , such as energy and technology , in recognition of the need to work closer with partners .

But it ’ s only a start . The Systems Change Lab report shows that the built environment sector in the UK is ‘ well off track ’ meeting the target necessary to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius by 2030 .
