However , one of the biggest lessons learned in recent years has been around the idea of collecting and analysing data that can provide a platform for businesses to become increasingly proactive . “ Recently we ’ ve been focussed on being on the front foot ,” says Dodman . “ So , while we do all the essential work required when something happens such as conducting an investigation to uncover the root cause , we also use the lessons we learn along the way to ensure they ’ re embedded in our management systems .
