In the process of delivering the infrastructure design from Arcadis and Jacobs , Balfour Beatty has been working with these 3D models to create the drawings for construction . “ Infrastructure clients need to make sure the designer is going to give the contractor what they need . We ’ re actually getting a 3D model cut into 2D drawings with unique IDs against that 3D project information model ,” says Parnell . “ Then with Jacobs , we ’ ve done a series of workshops , running thorough clash detection reporting to make sure we ’ re achieving a buildable design .”
