The project on Highway 100 was a complete demolition and reconstruction effort . The fourspan bridge was reconstructed as a five-span bridge . The south end of the bridge was moved back approximately 100 feet . Several different retaining walls were utilized throughout construction and in the finished product , including drilled secant pile , MSE , temporary wire walls , soldier pile and lagging with cast-in-place facing , steel sheeting , temporary soldier pile and lagging ( both cantilevered and with tiebacks ), gabion walls .
