Growing into new markets “ We started out with 30 people when we started the business , and now we ’ re at about 150 ,” says Holland . “ We started out with one office workshop , and now we have five throughout the North Island of New Zealand .” This significant amount of expansion over the last two decades has brought IMG ’ s progress into different market sectors and different industries , through both organic growth and acquisition .
“ Bruce Bonner , our owner , is quite entrepreneurial ,” says Holland . “ His strategy has been to look for opportunities in the market to grow , and to find synergistic businesses that will blend in well with our core background capabilities . We ’ ve been able to acquire businesses , put good management behind them and bring them back online as efficient , profitable businesses .”
