Interestingly , a recent University of Southern Denmark study found that cement ’ s environmental impact may be over-stated and about 30 percent of the total CO2 emissions from cement production are taken up by concrete structure in a ‘ fungal effect ’; but it ’ s fair to say cement ’ s unfavourable perception is firmly set among public and governments .
With the UN IPCC report stating we have 10 years left to keep global warming below 1.5 degrees Celsius and prevent irreversible environmental damage , the construction industry finds itself under greater scrutiny . It needs to come up with feasible
