Under the HSE ’ s proposal CDM 2007 would be replaced by CDM 2015
duties that only apply to notifiable construction projects , i . e . those lasting more than 30 days , or involving more than 500 person-days of construction work .
In terms of the general duties applicable to all projects , the two primary duty holders are “ contractors carrying out construction work ” and “ every person who controls the way in which any construction work is carried out ”. In addition , there is a duty imposed on anyone working on a construction site under the control of another person , to report any defects they are aware of that could endanger their health and safety .
Where notifiable projects are concerned , as well as notifying the HSE of the project , additional management duties are required , including the appointment of a CDM co-ordinator , and a principal contractor .
